Extraordinary Fleet Crew in the Capstone Edition Crowdfunder for the Galactic Trading Cards.
A song of gratitude from a remote corner in the North of Ireland where we have been on pilgrimage to ancient stone circles and megalithic sites to do ceremony and ritual, vision practices, prayer, share regenerative time and gather inspiration. Endless gratitude for your support, trust, and patience with this final edition, the culmination of 25 years of refinement, evolution and growth of this Galactic Trading Card Oracle Complex.
To do our very best, take the project to the next level and balance life, health and work responsibilities to do this entirely volunteer project is taking longer than we anticipated. With the writing complete we now turn to the design of the accompanying booklet that will be done by visionary designer Brook Paulin supported by in person sessions with me and Grace this spring. Once complete it will take a number of months to go through the proofing and printing process, our new goal is to have them in hand in the autumn.
At three Great Rings in the North of Ireland, I have written the last of the Galactic Trading Card text for art that emerged into the project during the kickstarter along with upgrading text for the accompanying booklet. Now all the text for the cards has been written with the highest intention as part of a ceremony at sacred sites of great magic that have been in use by druids, healers, witches, creatives, visionaries, poets, dancers, dreamers, and people of all kinds through the Neolithic Stone Age, Chalcolithic Copper Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Classical Era of Antiquity, Middles Ages, Early Modern Era to the Modern Era.
We went to many extraordinary places and here is a bit about the ones I wrote Galactic Trading Cards at.
Ascending up through a cathedral of overhanding trees, we reached Beltany Stone Circle, one of the Great Rings of ancient Ireland. Assembled by a creative community thousands of years ago, this site has served as a gathering place since before written language, a transformative touchstone for people through the ages.
When we arrived, a flock of sheep surrounded the circle while inside it many fresh faced lambs frolicked joyfully, celebrating their new life. Even when their mothers called for them to return, the lambs seemed undisturbed by us, perhaps even happy to have an audience for their play. The green hills of Donegal stretch out on three sides of us, an idyllic picture of green fields and sheep as far as the eye could see. There was a sacred serenity in this ancient place that calmed us down and brought us to our centre. Strong cold winds kept us alert as we pondered this place of beauty and awe. What a joy to be on the pilgrimage path with Grace Solkinson and Maddy Harland.
Through the aeons, pilgrims like us have come to visionary place to step out of the ordinary patterns of life and get a glimpse into the extraordinary. It was a powerful place for pause before a regenerative return to the everyday full of new ideas, goals and attitudes. In Celtic times this was a Druidic Temple, a nature church connecting people to the earth and the cosmos while inspiring humility, reverence and wonder. The archeology traces this site back much deeper through time, to the New Stone Age when early humanity created megalithic arrangements aligned with celestial bodies and cosmic alignments. We went here on three different days spending hours in ceremony. At peak moments I leaned against the stones, pondered the art and created divinatory text for the cards.
Winding our way deep into the outstanding beauty of the Irish landscape, at the remote edge of the Sperrin Mountains we came to a ritual landscape of profound and enduring significance. We returned to the sacred serenity of this timeless place of reflection and regeneration. Birdsong filled the air, a breeze carried our worries away and sunlight warmed our spirits. A spectacular view of rolling hills and immense skyscape fills us with awe.
This 4000 year old playground of the fae features a megalithic complex of 1,269 stones assembled into 7 interconnected stone circles, 10 stone rows and 12 cairns carefully arranged into a cosmic astrolabe to connect people to the planet and the cosmos. Serving as a celestial observatory, countless astrological connections are charted by this advanced arrangement of early Bronze Age technology. This sacred site served as a center for creative community and spiritual practice until it was lost to time around the year 1000 AD. It laid hidden for 900 years until it resurfaced from the peat in the 1930's when it was rediscovered by a farmer.
This extraordinary place is known as Bheitheach Mhór meaning 'big place of birch trees'. Although the birch trees were cleared back in the neolithic times, the spirit of this place is still an ancient forest. In modern times it is called Beaghmore Stone Circles and Alignments.
In this place we are reminded that the Fairy Faith is alive and well as it has always been. It is one of many source spots all over the planet sharing message of the magic with the world, inspiring conservation, caring, and protection of nature, life and sacred places.
A series of connection practices, rituals and ceremonies honoured the spirit of this place. We tied wooden acorns filled with symbolic gifts of herbs and stones to a fairy tree, planted semi-precious stones, drew Ogham staves and spent time deep within. Touching the stones in sequence including speaking the names of loved ones out loud to send blessings of healing, strength and abundance. I was joyed to write some of the last Galactic Trading Cards in this inspiring place as well as text for the accompanying booklet.
Weaving through a patchwork of farms, sheep and wide open sky, a long drive through Northern Ireland took us a most extraordinary place. A small pull off the road and an unassuming sign led us into a long passageway lined with flowing yellow gorse, then white flowered hawthorn. The sides of the path were adorned with fairy doors, hearts, offerings, shiny things, home made objects, coins and all manner of sacred objects, perhaps more than we have seen at other sites. As we walked down this long trail surrounded by all these intentional objects, the magic and intention grew stronger and stronger.
At the end of the path we were greeted by a large guardian ram. Upon seeing us they went right to the center of one of the Great Rings of the Celtic Isles. The protector ram gave some loud bleats announcing our presence and all the other sheep and their newborn lambs gathered in the shade of a hawthorn hedge at the edge of the field. The ram then trotted off welcoming our gentle presence in this ancient sacred site.
Ciorcal Cloch Bhaile Nua (Ballynoe Stone Circle) is truly a wonder. A large stone circle surrounds a smaller stone circle which surrounds a buried ancestral passage temple. Built 5000 years ago, before the pyramids, this site has been in continual use by people as a place to pilgrimage to for reflection, contemplation, ceremony and connection. It is the location of countless community events, gatherings and ceremonies through the ages.
There was a wonderful hawthorn fairy tree that was part of the ring which we tied clooties with wooden acorns filled with herbs and semi precious stones we put together in the circle with our intentions.
Synchronicity presented us the circle all to ourselves for three hours. This is where the video at the top of this message was filmed. I also spent time writing the last of the Galactic Trading Cards and text for the accompanying booklet.

High time for an update!
After pouring every moment of my time for six weeks into the crowdfunder, I took some time to catch up on 'the everything' and get to work including mostly relocating to Vancouver Island to serve as this years Dean and an instructor with Grace on the Permaculture Design and Resilient Ecosystems Diploma. It has been a huge transition and very immersive job. From the first moments of the class around a large fire with an Indigenous Elder all day in during a heavy snowstorm, its been an epic level learning.
Yesterday included time with an Indigenous Wisdom Holder from the Tsawout First Nation having a Salmon BBQ on a traditional beach spot!
Now on Vancouver Island, we are close by one of the core visionary designers of the Galactic Trading Cards, Brook Paulin. I am joyed to announce Brook is volunteering to help us put together a next level booklet to accompany the deck! This will be a remix upgrade, as all the designs for the project area, from the last few books created by the brilliant Shaun Freezen.

I am joyed to share a new art work by Vanni Mangoni that we are honoured to include in the deck. This most likely marks the completion of the curation, however there is still openness to an artist or two sponsoring a card so we can reach our stretch goal to add some metallic foil to a small set of cards.

With the last of the cards and the booklet to write with the deepest of intention, our plan is to pilgrimage to remote corners of the Celtic homelands of Northern Ireland to do ritual, ceremony and vision practices at Neolithic Stone Circles and other sacred sites where I will complete the writing and then begin the final pass of finalizing the design file so we can go to print. Our goal to have them in hand by May may have been a bit ambitious! We will do our very best to bring this project home with the greatest of dedication and intention, while continuing to take it to the next level! We aim for this final edition of the project be profoundly beautiful.

We made it! Joyful songs of gratitude and celebration.
Thanks to you and 114 other backers, in the final hours of our five week campaign we managed to reach our minimum goal to cover base printing and shipping costs for the deck to be made.

We will put together another presentation about the deck itself to deliver live and share as a recording in the next month or two.
Without each and every one of you winging us towards our goal, creating momentum, and inspiring others to participate knowing, it may very well not have happened at all. Thank you, thank you, thank you. A chorus of heartful gratitude.
Our global creative community successfully came together to crowdfund the Capstone Edition of the Galactic Trading Cards featuring 111+ artists from 24 countries on 6 continents.
Art given freely by artists, design done freely by designers and I entirely volunteer to co-create this global visionary arts initiative.
A number of super generous artists joined our crowdfunder to sponsor cards that will be seamlessly integrated into the deck and they will get 10 decks to gift or sell to recover their investment. We are still open to three more artist sponsoring cards so we can reach our stretch goal of adding foil elements to the box and 8 of the cards to make it even more beautiful and world class.
We will keep you updated as we complete production and go to print on this miraculous artifact.

Happy New Year.
A chorus of gratitude. We are on the home stretch thanks to the extraordinary support from all of you.
There is still a ways to go to meet our minimum goal however the end is in sight and we will keep working around the clock to bring this beauty from beyond into being.
